A Little Bit About Gypsy MVP and The Magnolia Ranch
Far from its native homeland of the United Kingdom, the Gypsy Vanner thrives in the gentle plains near Houston Texas. Under the careful management of Doug and Elaine Kneis and their dedicated team of professionals, Gypsy MVP offers professional services to equine enthusiasts around the world. Welcome … to Gypsy MVP … at Magnolia Ranch.
The Gypsy Vanner is relatively new to North America and there is some mystique shrouding the origin and development of this special horse. The Gypsy Vanner is the preferred wagon and riding horse of the Romany Gypsies. While the brightly-colored horses with profuse feather, mane, and tail are often called Gypsy Cobs, Tinkers, and other references, the Gypsy Vanner is the designation bestowed upon the “best of the best” of a half century breeding program. This program has had the intention to produce the most spectacular and well-bred Gypsy Horse to compliment the culture and colorful lifestyle of the Romany Gypsies…a horse called a Gypsy Vanner.
Only the top 10-15 percent of this breeding program would yield a horse worthy of the title Gypsy MVP Horse. With the foundation and bulk of the breed residing in the United Kingdom and difficult for the general population to physically see and be with these special horses, the North American public has been reliant on the word of importers and breeders that the horse they are purchasing is of quality.
As of June 1, 2007 approximately 1,350 Gypsy Horses were spread amongst three horse registries in North America today, but not all of them would carry the designation of a Gypsy MVP Horse. Many that have been imported are not of quality breeding stock, conformation, and stature. Because of the confusion, potential and real, surrounding this breed, and the lack of available information on these horses, Gypsy MVP saw a need to establish a network of high standards for their customers, so that their clients could be assured that the horses we acquire or secure for them are quality. And thus this quest for integrity gave birth to GYPSY MVP.
Because of both the uniqueness of the breed and mystery of the horse we call a Gypsy MVP Horse, along with the nuances of the Gypsy Culture, Erica Barton and Anne Bevan sought to develop, and have successfully created GypsyMVP.com, for the benefit of their Clients, which they call the Gypsy MVP Concierge Advantage.
