Fall Gypsy Horse Grooming Tips
It is the time of year that we can stop worry about hot weather problems, and go on to the cold weather jobs to be done. When the cold weather first comes in, most places tend to get damp and wet for long periods of time. During this time be sure to brush your horses coat regularly so as to avoid problems with rain rot or fungus. These issue most commonly develop this time of year since it is difficult to get air to the skin. This is also a good time to make sure you keep your Gypsy Vanner horses hair untangled and conditioned. I have found that keeping the mane moist, or conditioned, helps keep breakage down to a minimum even in to the winter months. You can use any product you like for this, horses hair is a lot like humans, different products work better on different hair types and climates.
